Physiotherapy in Collingwood

Personalized, hands-on physiotherapy to help you move better, recover fully, and stay active — whatever that looks like for you.

Real Recovery Starts with Physiotherapy

Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a sports injury, dealing with chronic pain, or working through a women’s health concern, Collaborative Health Group’s physiotherapy services are built around your goals — not a generic protocol.

Molly B. O’Rourke brings over 25 years of clinical physiotherapy experience to Collingwood and the Georgian Bay community. Her career spans hospital-based rehabilitation, orthopaedics, sports medicine, women’s health, geriatrics, and home care. That breadth means she’s seen — and successfully treated — a wide range of conditions across all ages and activity levels.

At Collaborative Health, physio doesn’t operate in a silo. Molly works alongside our chiropractors, registered massage therapists, acupuncturists, and psychotherapists. When your recovery benefits from a coordinated approach, the team communicates. That’s the Collaborative Health difference.

What Does a Physiotherapist Do?

Physiotherapy is a regulated health profession focused on restoring movement, reducing pain, and improving physical function. Your physiotherapist assesses the root cause of your symptoms — not just where it hurts — and develops a personalized treatment plan that may include hands-on manual therapy, exercise prescription, movement retraining, and education.

The goal isn’t just to feel better in the clinic. It’s to give you the tools, understanding, and strength to stay better when you leave.

Physiotherapy services at CHG are covered by most Ontario extended health benefit plans. Direct billing is available — ask when you book.

Areas of Focus

Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal

Assessment and treatment of joint, muscle, and soft tissue conditions — from acute injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation to chronic pain and mobility limitations. Whether you’ve just rolled an ankle or have been living with a persistent hip issue for years, Molly takes the time to understand your full picture.

Sports Medicine and Athletic Rehabilitation

Molly has worked with professional and university-level athletes as well as recreational athletes and active adults who simply want to get back to doing what they love. Living in the Blue Mountains region means she understands the demands of skiing, running, cycling, hiking, hockey, and the active lifestyle this area is built around.

Her return-to-sport approach is thorough: it’s not about getting you back on the hill or the trail as fast as possible — it’s about making sure you stay there.

Women's Health Physiotherapy

This is an area where CHG stands apart from most physiotherapy clinics in the Collingwood area. Molly has specific experience in women’s health physiotherapy, including pelvic health, prenatal and postnatal recovery, and the physical changes that accompany different life stages.

Women’s health physiotherapy addresses a range of conditions that are common but often not talked about — pelvic floor dysfunction, bladder and bowel concerns, pain during or after pregnancy, and issues related to menopause. These are treatable. You don’t have to normalize them.

Geriatrics and Healthy Aging

Maintaining mobility, strength, balance, and independence as we age requires a different approach than treating a sports injury in your thirties. Molly has worked extensively in geriatric settings, supporting older adults in maintaining function and reducing fall risk — and doing it in a way that respects what matters most to each individual.

Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

Recovering from a hip or knee replacement, ligament repair, or other surgical procedure requires structured, progressive physiotherapy. Molly’s hospital and rehabilitation experience gives her a thorough understanding of post-surgical timelines, precautions, and what it takes to get to — and past — the milestones that actually matter.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Your initial session begins with a conversation — about your goals, your history, and what’s been getting in the way. That’s followed by a thorough physical assessment. From there, you’ll receive a clear, personalized treatment plan with realistic expectations and measurable milestones.

Our approach is collaborative by nature. You’ll understand what’s happening, why, and what you can do between sessions to keep progress moving. Most patients leave their first appointment feeling heard and already better equipped than when they walked in.
