Psychotherapy & Counselling in Collingwood

Thoughtful, evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples, and youth — in person and virtually across Ontario.

Therapy That Treats the Whole Person

At Collaborative Health Group, we believe mental and physical well-being are deeply connected. Our registered psychotherapists offer counselling for individuals, couples, and youth in Collingwood and the surrounding Georgian Bay area, as well as virtually for clients across Ontario.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, depression, grief, relationship challenges, or a significant life transition, our therapists provide a calm, non-judgmental space where your goals shape the work. Sessions are available in person at our First Street clinic in Collingwood, or online from wherever you are in Ontario.

What sets our psychotherapy practice apart is its setting. At Collaborative Health, your therapist works alongside our chiropractors, massage therapists, and other practitioners. When it’s appropriate and with your consent, care can be coordinated across the team — a meaningful advantage for clients experiencing symptoms that show up both mentally and physically.

What Is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy — often called therapy or counselling — is a collaborative, evidence-based process for understanding and changing the thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviours that are getting in the way of living well.

Unlike crisis intervention or medication management, psychotherapy builds lasting change. Over time, clients develop greater self-awareness, stronger emotional regulation, and practical skills they carry into everyday life. It’s not about being told what to do — it’s about gaining clarity and tools to make the choices that align with who you want to be.

Psychotherapy is regulated in Ontario. Both Tanya Lawrence and Katy Wood hold the designation of Registered Psychotherapist, which means their credentials, training, and practice are governed by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Both of our psychotherapists see clients in person at 330 First St in Collingwood. Virtual counselling sessions are available for anyone located elsewhere in Ontario — whether you’re in Wasaga Beach, Barrie, Thornbury, Meaford, or anywhere further afield.

Virtual therapy through a registered psychotherapist is covered by most Ontario extended health benefits plans under the same category as in-person sessions. If insurance coverage matters to you, we encourage you to check your plan or call us — we’re happy to help clarify.
