Dr. Ruth Hitchcock
About
Dr. Ruth Hitchcock is a chiropractor with over 30 years of experience, deeply committed to supporting families through every stage of life—beginning before birth. Her practice focuses on the unique needs of pregnant women, infants, and young children, providing safe, evidence-informed care designed to support both maternal wellbeing and healthy early development.
Ruth has completed specialized training in bodywork for infants with tethered oral tissues, an area of growing importance for families navigating feeding challenges, tongue-tie, and early musculoskeletal development. Her gentle, supportive approach helps parents feel confident and informed while ensuring babies receive attentive, hands-on care during this critical stage of growth.
In her work with pregnant clients, Ruth addresses postural changes, joint and muscle strain, and nervous system function throughout the perinatal journey. Whether it’s preparing for birth or recovering in the postpartum period, she tailors each treatment plan to meet the evolving needs of both parent and baby.
Her care begins with a thorough postural assessment, followed by individualized plans that may include manual or low-force adjustments, instrument-assisted techniques, Thomson drop table, cupping, and soft tissue therapies. Her goal is always to meet each client where they are—with compassion, clarity, and respect for their goals.
After practicing in Collingwood for 24 years, Ruth spent time in Winnipeg before returning to the Georgian Bay region. She is thrilled to rejoin the Collingwood healthcare community and contribute her expertise to the team at Collaborative Health.
Outside of the clinic, Ruth enjoys walking the trails of Collingwood with her dog, hiking, skiing with family, and crafting on her pottery wheel.
