Dr. Ruth Hitchcock
About
Dr. Ruth Hitchcock is a chiropractor with over 30 years of experience, dedicated to supporting families and individuals through every stage of life—from pregnancy and early development to active adulthood.
Her practice includes specialized care for pregnant women, infants, and young children, offering safe, evidence-informed treatment that supports maternal wellbeing and healthy early growth. She has completed advanced training in bodywork for infants with tethered oral tissues, an area
of growing importance for families navigating feeding challenges, tongue-tie, and early musculoskeletal development. Her gentle, attentive approach helps parents feel confident and informed while ensuring babies receive thoughtful, hands-on care during this formative stage.
Ruth also works with children, teens, and adults of all ages who want to move with strength and ease to maintain an active lifestyle. Whether supporting a young athlete, guiding a return to sport, addressing everyday aches and strains, or providing care through pregnancy and
postpartum recovery, she focuses on restoring functional balance and optimizing movement. Her goal is to help patients participate fully in family life, sports and daily activities—free from unnecessary pain and recurring injury.
Care begins with a comprehensive postural and functional assessment, followed by individualized treatment plans that may include manual or low-force adjustments, instrument-assisted techniques, Thomson drop table, cupping, and soft tissue therapies. Each plan is tailored to meet patients where they are, delivered with compassion, clarity, and respect for their goals.
After practicing in Collingwood for 24 years, Ruth spent time in Winnipeg before returning to the Georgian Bay region. She is pleased to rejoin the Collingwood healthcare community and contribute her experience to the team at Collaborative Health. Outside of the clinic, Ruth enjoys walking the trails of Collingwood with her dog, hiking, skiing with family, and crafting on her pottery wheel.
