FAQ for Chiropractor

Do you need a referral to see a chiropractor? Is chiropractic effective? What are the benefits of going to a chiropractor?Does WSIB pay for Chiropractic Treatment?Where is our Chiropractor Office located?

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need a referral to see a Chiropractor.   Many doctors are recognizing the value of evidenced based Chiropractic care as part of the health care team and refer patients directly to us.  At Collaborative Health we are happy to work closely with your family doctor and keep them up to date with your condition and complaint as well as involve them in the care when imaging / prescriptions / referrals are warranted.

Chiropractic is a safe and effective treatment for the nerves, muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons of the entire body.  The main focus is to restore functional movement to the body so you can get back to the activities you enjoy.

A Chiropractor will do a thorough history and physical exam in an attempt to get to the root of the complaint.  The physical exam will test  your neurological system , the spinal cord, it’s nerves as well as the muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints of body.  The benefits of Chiropractic are increased strength, improved function and ranges of motion, decreased pain and headaches as well as less down time from work, sports and social activities.

Chiropractors are certified to do assessments and provide treatment for WSIB claims as well as Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims.  In a WSIB case we determine if there should be restrictions on work duties or hours and communicate directly with WSIB as well as your employer.  Treatment for WSIB cases is completely covered by WSIB and there is no out-of-pocket expense for the patient.
